Critical Education for Compliance

Our workshops meet ALL individual state compliance standards for this type of training, including the requirements set forth by the states of New York, Connecticut, California, Delaware, Maine and Illinois. Please note: an additional hour of bystander awareness training is required for the City of Chicago.


In Groups or One-on-One

Throughout each training event, our trainers openly engage attendees and solicit questions. They then make themselves available after the session for more private discussion. Training is also available in a one-on-one coaching format.

Supportive Bystander LP

The Supportive Bystander

Through a blend of lecture, group discussions, and interactive workshop activities, this session will create awareness of unconscious bias. Participants will explore how social conditioning impacts our decisions and interactions when building workplace relationships. We will discuss the importance of advocating for those who, traditionally, have been discriminated against or disrespected. We will discuss strategies to foster an environment that is respectful, diverse, and inclusive, creating a sense of belonging. We will cover:

  • The science behind unconscious bias, including how the mind operates outside of conscious intention.
  • Definitions and examples of different types of unconscious bias including: Like Me Bias, Confirmation Bias, and Anchor Bias
  • Limitations workplace bias and “group think” have on innovation, inclusion, productivity, and company performance.
  • Discuss and define stereotypes and prejudice and their impact on workplace decision-making and relationship-building.
  • Bystander intervention tips and techniques.
  • Tactics and strategies needed to communicate respectfully when addressing observed behaviors.
  • Approaches to overcome feelings of discomfort that may arise when serving as an ally.
  • Strategies to help identify what type of communication is needed in a given situation, including active listening, empathizing and advocating.
